CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 2,200 saplings have been distributed at the initiative of Shibganj Upazila and Municipal BNP in the district today on the occasion of 47th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Former lawmaker and freedom fighter Alhaj Professor Md. Shahjahan Miah, advisor to BNP Chairperson, inaugurated the programme on the banks of Pithalitala Zia Canal in Shibganj Municipal area this afternoon. 

Speaking at the occasion, Shahjahan Miah said BNP does not believe in the politics of revenge. Tree plantation is very important to deal with the current climate crisis. And BNP is carrying out this programme to raise public awareness from that responsibility. 

Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was in favor of nature and environment-friendly development, he added. 

Following his ideals, BNP is working towards building a green, clean and sustainable Bangladesh.
