RANGPUR, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Moulana Abdul Halim said Jamaat-e-Islami is ready for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections in February next.
He said level playing field for the elections should be created as holding a free, fair and acceptable election is the people's demand.
Moulana Abdul Halim said this while addressing as the chief guest at a regional meeting of the party’s responsible leaders organized by the Rangpur-Dinajpur regional Jamaat-e-Islami at the party’s Rangpur metropolitan office on Tuesday.
“A fair and participatory election adopting the PR system through legal validity of the July Charter is the people’s expectation now. So, the legal basis of the July Charter must be given before the elections,” he said.
He said there will be no scope for nomination trading and vote theft in the PR system. The center will not be occupied and the people will exercise their voting rights peacefully, he added.
“We are demanding this new PR system of elections based on the participation of all parties to build a new Bangladesh. There should be no elections before the July Charter implementation,” he said.
Moulana Abdul Halim said that the 2024 revolution was achieved in exchange for the blood of students and people. The fallen autocratic group is now conspiring to sabotage that revolution by riding on the back of the Jatiya Party.
“During the 15-year Awami tyranny, Jatiya Party actively worked as a ladder to their survival in power. The highly controversial election of 2024 was held with the cooperation of Jatiya Party. The Jatiya Party is the B-team of India and Awami League,” he said.
He said that the participants of the July movement will not sit in the face of such conspiracies.
“We will all be united to confront and thwart the fascist conspiracy. As part of the fascist conspiracy, Gano Adhikar Parishad President VP Nurul Haque Nur was attacked. We demand exemplary punishment of these attackers. We will all remain united,” he said.
