NARSINGDI, 30 Aug, 2025(BSS) - RAB detained an escaped inmate from Kashimpur 
High Security Prison in Gazipur.

RAB-11, CPSC Narsingdi, detained him from Ghorashal Khalishkartek area of 
Palash upazila in the district in the early of the morning.

Narsingdi Camp Commander Md Jewel Rana confirmed the information. 

The detainee was Shawon Mia, 32, son of Nahid driver Khalishkartek area of 
Palash upazila.

RAB said, "Shawon was imprisoned in Kashimpur jail in connection with a drug 
case filed with Palash Police Station.

Later, on August 6 last year, he escaped from prison and went into hiding. 
Subsequently, he became an accused listed in case number 194 filed at 
Gazipur's Konabari Police Station over the prison break.

In addition, he has multiple arrest warrants against him, including for 
murder and drug-related cases. Acting on a tip-off, we arrested him from 
Khalishkartek in Palash. He has been handed over to Palash Police Station for 
legal action."
