Human chain formed for victims of enforced disappearance in Feni

FENI, Aug 30, 2025 (BSS) – Human rights organization ‘Odhikar’ today formed a human chain at Feni Press Club here in observance of the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearance.

Besides, a rally and discussion meeting in memory of victims of enforced disappearances were arranged at the press club. 

The rally started from the Feni Press Club premises on Saturday afternoon and ended at the same venue after parading main streets of the town.

Earlier, Rawshan Ara Begum, mother of missing Jubo Dal leader Mahbubur Rahman Ripon, spoke as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by Odhikar at the Feni Press Club auditorium. 

Former president of Feni Press Club Muhammad Abu Taher Bhuiyan presided over the event.

M Mamunur Rashid, editor of Saptahik Ananda Taraka, Ahmed Ali, assistant professor of Botany Department of Feni Government College Ahamed Ali, Mohiuddin Khandaker, central secretary general of Bangladesh Primary School Teachers Association, Firoz Alam, acting editor of Daily Suprabhat Feni, and Kazi Iqbal Ahmed Paran, president of JASAS Feni District Committee were present. 

Journalist Shahjalal Bhuiyan, member of Odhikar Feni Unit, presented the main article while Odhikar Feni Unit Focal Person Journalist Nazmul Haque Shamim conducted the event.

Odhikar representative Tanni Som delivered the welcome speech. Guerrilla freedom fighter Mohammad Ali Nosu, Mahfuzur Rahman Sohag, elder brother of missing person Mahbubur Rahman Ripon, Mustafizur Rahman Shipu and RTV's Feni correspondent MA Akash, among others, spoke.
