BAGERHAT, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS)- Bagerhat District Fisheries Department has undertaken programme to release fish fries in 21 ponds of different government institutions here and Badokhali Beel of Sadar Upazila.

Director of the Department of Fisheries of Khulna division Jahangir Alam inaugurated the programme this morning by releasing carp fries in Badokhali Beel.

A total of 443 kg of carp fries were released, out of which 50 percent is Rui, 25 percent is Katla, 25 percent is Mrigel. Fries of four kg horn fish were also released in the ponds.

?Bagerhat District Fisheries Officer Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, Senior Assistant Director of the Khulna Region Fisheries Department Monirul Mamun, Senior Assistant Director Raj Kumar Biswas, Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer S.M. Mustafizur Rahman, Bagerhat Sadar Senior Fisheries Officer Ferdous Ansari, along with local dignitaries and fish farmers were present.
