Business establishment fined Taka 25,000 in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Aug 28, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court in a drive has fined a business establishment Taka 25,000 for manufacturing and selling mustard oil products in the market at Rangpur City Bazar without a Certification Marks (CM) license. 
 

The Rangpur divisional office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Rangpur district administration jointly conducted the drive on Wednesday afternoon, said a press release today. 

 
Executive Magistrate of Rangpur district administration Tamal Azad led the mobile court.

 
During the drive, the court fined Messer's Khwaja Oil Mill at Rangpur City Market Taka 25,000 for the reason.

  
The BSTI prosecutors were Field Officers (Certification Marks) Marufa Begum and Md Zulkarnain, Inspectors (Metrology) Tadmira Sharmin and Tahzibul Islam. 

 
Talking to BSS today, Deputy Director (Physical) and Rangpur divisional office Chief of BSTI Mobin-Ul-Islam said that the divisional BSTI office will continue such drives in the public interest.
