THAKURGAON, Aug 22, 2025 (BSS) - Two people including a school student, were killed in separate road accidents in Thakurgaon district yesterday.

A 16-year-old student, Mosha Naju Akter, died after her headscarf got caught in the wheels of an auto-rickshaw in Thakurgaon municipal town around 8:30 pm. 

She was rushed to Thakurgaon General Hospital and later referred to Rangpur Medical College, where she succumbed. 

Sadar Police Station OC Md. Sarwar Alam Khan confirmed the incident, saying police visited the scene and hospital and a case has been filed.

In a separate accident around 9 pm in Shantipur area of Ranishankail municipality, 45-year-old Rafiqul Islam was killed when a truck hit him while he was riding a motorcycle. 

Ranishankail Police Station Officer-in-Charge Arshedul Haque confirmed the incident.

The bodies of both victims were handed over to their relatives.
