HABIGANJ, Aug 21, 2025 (BSS) - A fire broke out at a CNG filling station at 
Nabiganj upazila of the district this morning.

The blaze started at about 6:00 am at Aushkandi CNG Filling Station located 
on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway, said Abul Kalam, station officer of Habiganj 
Fire Service.

A passenger bus came to the filling station for refueling its gas cylinder 
and suddenly the gas cylinder of the vehicle exploded, causing a terrible 
fire in the entire station, he said. 

Nine CNG-run auto, one bus and two motorcycles were gutted in the fire.

Being informed, four units of Habiganj Fire Service rushed to the spot and 
brought the fire under control after two hours frantic effort. 

The total extent of the damage will be known after the investigation.
