KHULNA, May 30, 2026 (BSS) - Eid-ul-Azha festivities continued for a second day on Saturday as a festive crowd of visitors filled recreational centers and scenic spots across the city and district.

Popular entertainment centers including the Jahanabad Cantonment Zoo and Park in Gilatola, Rana Resort and Amusement Park in Dakop, Wonderland Shishu Park, Ullas Amusement Park in Mujgunni, Gallamari Linear Park and Shaheed Hadis Park were packed with people of all ages.

Other popular gathering spots included the Khanjahan Ali Bridge, the Khulna University campus, the Mayuri residential area and the banks of the Bhairab, Rupsha and Kazibachha rivers.

While traffic on the city's usually busy commercial streets remained thin, amusement parks were overwhelmed with thousands of holidaymakers, particularly children enjoying various rides.

Due to the intense daytime heat, the rush peaked in the afternoon and continued well into the evening, around 9:30pm.

At Mujgunni's Ullas Park, children faced long queues for popular attractions.

"I loved riding the toy train and the Nagordola (traditional ferris wheel)," said Al Amin, a fifth-grader from Khulna Model School.

Ashraful Islam, manager of Ullas Park, noted that visitor turnout on Friday and Saturday marked the highest in the park's three-and-a-half-year history.

"While we don't have an exact headcount yet, the crowd this Eid-ul-Azha has far surpassed our previous turnouts," he said.

Spacious venues like the Gallamari Linear Park also drew large family gatherings.

"We skipped the first day of Eid to avoid the rush, but the park is still bustling today," said Sonia Rahman, a resident of Mohammad Nagar who visited with her family. "We prefer this spot because it's open and spacious."

Similar crowds were reported at the Rana Amusement Park in Dakop Upazila, where visitors enjoyed the octopus ride, trackless train and castle bouncer alongside walks by the adjacent Kazibachha River.

Meanwhile, the open spaces of the newly developed Mayuri residential area and local riverbanks provided a relaxed, open-air alternative for families looking to escape the crowded rides.
