5 dacoits arrested over robbery in Pran Dairy Farm in Bogura

BOGURA, Aug 18, 2025 (BSS) - The Detective Branch (DB) of police of Bogura have arrested five alleged dacoits from Dhaka’s Ashulia and Dholaikhal area on Sunday night.

They also seized two trucks used in the robbery and recovered looted money over Taka 1.05 lakh from their possessions.

Spokesman of Bogura district police Additional Superintendent of Police (Adl.SP) Atoar Rahman today disclosed this before media at a press briefing at the office of the Detective Branch (DB) of police.

A team of the district DB acting on secret information raided at Bypail and Nishchintapur Bazar under Ashulia Thana and Dholaikhal area in the capital last night and arrested the inter-district dacoits. 

The arrested dacoits are-Md Didar,34, son of Md Rafijul of South Chhoto Manik area under Shahjahanpur upazila, Md Abdul Mannan,23, son of Abdul Wahid, Md Sohel, 28, son of Md Safijul Bepari of Luxmipur area under Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola district, Md Ziaur Rahman, 35, son of late Abdul Hay of Indra Narayanpur area under Tamujuddin upazla of Bhola district and Md Zafar Hossain,45, son of Mujibar Rahman Muje of Nischintapur area under Ashulia Thana.

The Additional Superintendent Atoar Rahman said that the arrested dacoits along with their accomplices committed a dacoity to the Pran Integrated Dairy Farm in Partepur area under Shahjahanpur Thana at about 8.30pm on August 8 last. 

The dacoits looted eight high breed cows worth about Taka 10 lakh and different types of instruments worth about Taka 12 lakh at gun point.

A dacoity case was later filed with Shahjahanpur Thana in this connection.

Atoar Rahman alleged that the arrested people are the members of an inter-district dacoity gang and were involved in dacoity, thefts and various types of criminal activities across the country for long.

Police have been trying to nab the other members of the gang and recover the looted goods, he added.
