It is expected that once this industrial park becomes operational, it will create employments for around 100,000 people.
The inauguration of the plot allocation programme was held today at the A.K. Shamsuddin Conference Room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nazrul Islam attended the event as the chief guest.

In his welcome speech, Mahbubul Islam said the primary goal of setting up the Sirajganj BSCIC Industrial Park was to strengthen the economy of North Bengal through industrialization. He also mentioned that reducing unemployment, improving infrastructures, and creating an industrial environment were the other key objectives.
There was a plan to allocate some 829 plots at the park while all of which have been prepared. Both the local and foreign entrepreneurs have been allotted plots.
Regarding the obligations of the plot receivers, Md Sajidul Islam, Head of BSCIC Industrial Park, said that BSCIC started its journey way back in 1957 while it has some 83 industrial estates across the country, among which Sirajganj is one of the notable ones.
If down payments and service charges are not paid on time, approved layouts are not followed, factories remain closed for more than five years, or plots are used for residential purposes, then the allocation may be suspended. Additionally, setting up mobile towers is prohibited while violation of this will result in cancellation of the plot allocation.
Sirajganj Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nazrul Islam said, "Although Sirajganj is close to Dhaka, but there has been no such industrialization here whereas neighboring Bogura has developed significantly. This is BSCIC's largest park here in Sirajganj,"
He said most of the entrepreneurs are the residents of this district while Sirajganj is also now suitable for an industrial park with good connectivity via rail, road, and river routes. "We urge those who have received plot allocations to start their operations quickly."
Regional Director of BSCIC Jafar Bayezid said, "Today is a day of joy for us. We've been waiting for this for a long time overcoming many challenges. We believe this dream will become a reality through our collective efforts. We're ready to provide full cooperation. BSCIC contributes 11 percent to the country's GDP."
