Rangpur records 3.55pc Covid-19 positivity rate Thursday

   RANGPUR, Oct 14, 2021 (BSS) - Rangpur division recorded 3.55 percent

Covid-19 positivity rate as 10 fresh cases were reported after testing 282
new samples in the division on Thursday.

   Health officials said the coronavirus situation continues improving amid
declining positivity and casualty rates and rising recovery rate during the
last two months in the division.

   Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 3.14 on Wednesday, 3.67
percent on Tuesday, 2.16 percent on Monday, 2.87 percent on Sunday, 3.48
percent on Saturday and 2.47 percent on Friday and 6.11 percent last in the
division.

   Among the 10 new patients, two were reported positive after diagnosing 94
new samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in
Rangpur at the daily positivity rate of 2.13 percent today.

   "The two new Covid-19 patients include one each from Rangpur and Kurigram
districts," Principal of RpMC Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu told BSS at
6:40 pm.

   On the other hand, eight new patients were reported after diagnosing 188
samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC)
in Dinajpur at the daily positivity rate of 4.26 percent today.

   "The eight new Covid-19 infected patients include five from Dinajpur, two
from Panchagarh and one from Thakurgaon districts," Principal of MARMC
Professor Dr Syed Nazir Hossain said.

   Talking to BSS, Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Motaharul Islam said
the number of Covid-19 patients rose to 55,182 as 10 new positive cases were
reported today from across the division.

   "The district-wise break up of total 55,182 patients include 12,435 of
Rangpur, 3,795 Panchagarh, 4,433 of Nilphamari, 2,736 of Lalmonirhat, 4,634
of Kurigram, 7,585 of Thakurgaon, 14,710 of Dinajpur and 4,854 of Gaibandha
in the division," he added.
