JOYPURHAT, Feb 22, 2024 (BSS) - A woman was killed and another injured in a road accident in Battali area under Khetlal upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Reshma Khatun, 38, daughter of Amjad Hossain, resident of Notun Hat Dewan Para of Joypurhat Municipal area. She was an office assistant of Khetlal Land Office.

The accident occurred when they were going to Khetlal Land Office on a motorcycle collided head-on with a CNG-run autorickshaw coming from the opposite direction in the area around 9:30am, leaving them seriously injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Khetlal Police Station Anwar Hossain said.

The injured were taken to Joypurhat 250-bed General Hospital, where on-duty doctor declared Reshma Khatun dead, he said.

The body was kept at the hospital morgue, the OC added.
