Child marriage victims to be established in society overcoming challenges, obstacles: Speakers

GAIBANDHA, FEB 01, 2024 (BSS)-Speakers at a training programme today said the child marriage victims-adolescent girls to be established in the society by overcoming the existing challenges and obstacles.
 
“In the ongoing situation of society, problems may come but you must have to win with smile.

 If you can face the problem and move forward, then it is possible to reach the desired destination. For this, it requires moral and mental courage that help you to attain the cherished goals”, they also said.

They came up with the comments while addressing the concluding ceremony of a three-daylong training on life skills and leadership development affairs for the adolescent girls who are the victims of child marriage at the auditorium of Gana Unnayan Kendra (GUK) at sadar upazila here.

Win Rock International arranged the training programme under Fight Slavery and Trafficking in Persons Activity (FSTIP) Project which is being implemented by Win Rock International with the financial support of the USAID.

Advocate Sazzid Ahmed and regional coordinator Khairul Islam also addressed.
 
Chief of the party of FSTIP project Susan Stumper gave welcome speech, among others.
 
The sessions were conducted by human rights workers Adv. Tanvia Rojlin Sultana and vote of thanks was given by deputy party chief of FSTIP HM Nazrul Islam.
 
Earlier, deputy director of department of Women Affairs here Nargis Jahan formally inaugurated the training as chief guest.
 
As many as 25 child marriage victims coming from Gaibandha, Rajshahi, Naogaon, Chapainawabganj and Sirajganj districts took part in the training.
 
Notably said the project with the financial support of USAID's and in cooperation with Winrock International is working in districts of the country to prevent human trafficking and child marriage.
