CHATTOGRAM, Jan 6, 2024 (BSS)- A group of miscreants set fire to a pickup van 
in front of Mustafa petrol pump on the Fakirhat highway of Muradpur union 
under Sitakunda upazila of the district today.
 
Police said the miscreants of BNP-Jamaat have carried out this attempt to 
disrupt the festive atmosphere of the national polls to be held tomorrow and 
to spread panic among the voters. 
 
The pickup van was set on fire in the area around 6 am, the sources added.

Nurul Alam Dulal, senior station officer of Sitakunda Fire Service and Civil 
Defence, confirmed the information to the media. 

Being informed, a team of the firefighter rushed to the spot and doused the 
blaze under control after hectic efforts of half hours, he added. 

However, there were no casualties as the driver and helper of the vehicle got 
down before starting the fire, the fire service official said.
