NATORE, Jan 6, 2024 (BSS) - A truck driver and his helper were killed in a road accident on the Natore-Pabna highway in Ahmedpur Karbala area under Baraigram upazila of the district today.

The deceased were identified as truck driver Shahinur Rahman, 28, son of late Elahi Bakhsh of Baripara village under Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah district, and his helper Jasim Uddin, 26 of Achintpur village of the same upazila of the district.

The accident occurred when a Jhenaidah-bound sand-loaded truck from Rajshahi was hit by another truck from behind in the area around 5:30am this morning. As a result, the front part of the rear truck was twisted leaving the driver and helper of the truck dead on the spot, officer-in-charge (OC) of Jhalmalia Highway Police Station ANM Masud said.

Police recovered the bodies from the spot, he said.

Police seized the both trucks.

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
