NATORE, Jan 2, 2024 (BSS) - The National Social Service Day-2024 was observed in the district today at the initiative of the Social Welfare Ministry through different programmes.

This year's theme of the day is 'Samajsebai Garbo Desh, Smart Hobe Bangladesh'.

On the occasion, a colorful rally was brought out from the premises of the collectorate building which paraded the important streets and ended in the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office this morning.

After the rally, a discussion was held in the conference room of Deputy Commissioner Office with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abu Naser Bhuiyan in the chair.

Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Deputy Director of District Social Services Office, presented the main speech.

Additional Superintendents of Police Mahmuda Sharmin and additional deputy commissioner (General) Masudur Rahman, among others, spoke.
The speakers said, social services department is working to improve the quality of life of the people of Bangladesh through social welfare, social safety, empowerment and development.
