CHAPAINAWABGANJ, June 24, 2021 (BSS)- One more person died of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours raising the total number of deaths to 97 in the district.

“The number of Covid-19 cases climbed to 3,804 as 69 more people were detected positive after testing 784 samples in the district during the period while the infection rate is 8.80 percent,” sources in the Civil Surgeon Office here confirmed.

The new fatality is reported from Shibganj upazila.

Among the newly detected patients, 26 people are from Sadar upazila, 13 from Shibganj upazila, 16 from Gomastapur upazila, six from Nachole upazila and eight from Bholahat upazila.

A total of 1,221 patients, in which 72 in dedicated Covid-19 hospital and others at home quarantine, are undergoing treatment in the district while 2,486 patients with 195 new cases have, so far, been recovered from the disease here, the sources added.
