CHATTOGRAM, Aug 8, 2021 (BSS)-A mural of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was unveiled at Chattogram University (CU) campus today.

CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Shirin Akhtar unveiled the mural of Bangamata in front of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Hall of the campus.  

Speaking at the function Shirin Akhter said Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib was the source of political inspiration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangamata has inspired the Father of the Nation to work for the welfare of the people in all fields. This majestic woman will always be remembered by the nation forever.

CU Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Benu Kumar Dey, Registrar (Acting) Prof. SM Monirul Hasan, Provost of Shaheed Abdur Rob Hall Dr. Rabiul Hasan Bhuiyan, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunesha Mujib Hall Provost Dr Prakash Dasgupta, Provost of Shamsun Nahar Hall Laila Khaleda (Ankhi), Additional Director of IQAC Dr. Mohammad Omar Farooq and General Secretary of CU Chhatra League Iqbal Hossain Tipu, among others, were present.

Later, they took part in a special prayer seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of Bangamata.
