DHAKA, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - Sammilito Islami Bank PLC has continued paying customers against their withdrawal applications while fund inflows and normal banking transactions remain uninterrupted, said its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Md. Abedur Rahman Sikder today.
Talking to BSS, the managing director said the bank started accepting applications from customers for withdrawal of their funds on September 1, while the payment process began on September 7.
According to him, a total of 18,046 customers applied on September 1 for withdrawal of Tk 1,325 crore. Against those applications, 8,125 customers withdrew Tk 319 crore on September 7.
On the same day, the bank received Tk 93 crore in cash and Tk 51 crore through RTGS, BFTN and clearing channels, totaling Tk 141 crore in fund inflow.
A total of 16,600 transactions, including cash and electronic transactions, were completed that day, he said.
Sikder said 19,613 customers submitted applications on September 2, involving a total of Tk 1,016 crore. Against these applications, 7,234 customers withdrew Tk 340 crore on September 8.
The bank received Tk 90 crore in cash and Tk 105 crore through BFTN, RTGS and clearing channels on the same day, bringing the total fund inflow to Tk 195 crore. A total of 16,050 transactions were completed on September 8, he added.
On September 3, a total of 21,086 customers submitted applications amounting to Tk 963 crore. Against these applications, 10,697 customers withdrew Tk 381 crore today, the managing director said.
He further said that alongside payments to customers, the flow of funds into the bank is continuing.
"Normal transaction activities are continuing in individual accounts as usual, and this trend will continue," he said.
Sikder said the bank is continuing its payment process in accordance with customers' applications, with a significant number of customers withdrawing their funds every day.
"At the same time, fund inflows into the bank and transaction activities are also continuing," he added.
