DHAKA, Jan 01, 2026 (BSS) - Hasan Tarek Chowdhury today joined the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s premier stock market, as the General Manager of HR and Admin. 

Before taking on this leadership role at the DSE, he served as the Head of People and Culture Business Partnering at Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Bangladesh Limited.

Chowdhury is recognized as one of Bangladesh’s most prominent human resource professionals, boasting over 29 years of professional experience in the field. For nearly two decades, he has led HR divisions in various renowned multinational and large domestic organizations. 

His extensive career includes notable tenures at Japan Tobacco International (Bangladesh), Novartis (Bangladesh) Limited, MetLife Bangladesh, ACI Limited, MGH Group, and PRAN-RFL Group.

Throughout his career, he has managed diverse HR challenges across multiple sectors, including pharmaceuticals, FMCG, insurance, shipping, and agriculture. 

Chowdhury has been actively involved in HR policy formulation, talent acquisition, employee development, and performance management. He is particularly noted for leading major organizational transformations, such as the largest workforce transformation project in Bangladesh for JTI and restructuring projects at Novartis and Alcon.
