European equities push higher at open

LONDON, Sept 30, 2021 (BSS/AFP) - European stock markets opened higher
Thursday, with London buoyed by a sharp upgrade to UK second-quarter economic
growth.

The British capital's benchmark FTSE 100 index advanced 0.4 percent to
7,139.15 points, compared with Wednesday's close.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index won 0.3 percent to 15,411.60 points
and the Paris CAC 40 gained 0.6 percent to 6,599.58.

Britain's economy rebounded by 5.5 percent in the second quarter, official
data showed Thursday, boosted by rising consumer spending as the government
began easing lockdown restrictions.

That was up sharply from the previous estimate of 4.8 percent.
