FBCCI, IUBAT join hands to work on skills development, employment, research

DHAKA, Jan 17, 2024 (BSS) - The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce
and Industry (FBCCI) and the International University of Business Agriculture
and Technology (IUBAT) will work together in the areas of skill development,
employment and research and development to exploit the benefits of the Fourth
Industrial Revolution (4IR).

In this regard, FBCCI and IUBAT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
today at the FBCCI in the capital.

FBCCI president Mahbubul Alam and vice chancellor of IUBAT Professor Dr.
Abdur Rab signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations, said a
press release.

The MoU intends to facilitate all exchanges and cooperative initiatives
between the two organizations in the area of exchange of researchers,
internship and jobs for students, joint research activities, organizing joint
conferences, participation in conferences, faculty development programs,
staff development projects, study tours, internships, and other cooperative
efforts as may be specified later on mutual agreement.

The FBCCI president expressed his optimism that the MoU would play an
important role to increase domestic productivity; will ensure product
development and value addition; and increase the competitiveness of local
enterprises, which will foster the sustainable development of the nation.

Vice chancellor of IUBAT Dr. Abdur Rob stated that industry-academia
collaboration is a must for building a skilled workforce to face the
challenges of the 4IR (Fourth Industrial Revolution).

In this regard, the MoU between FBCCI and IUBAT will be a shining example.
 
Senior vice president of FBCCI Md. Amin Helaly, vice president Mr. Khairul
Huda Chopol, Md. Munir Hossain, Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences
Prof. Dr. Md. Shohidullah Miah, former director of FBCCI and Professor of the
College of Agricultural Sciences Dr. Ferdousi Begum and other dignitaries
were present at the MoU ceremony.
