PM for appointing Bangladeshis in UNDPO
DHAKA, July 24, 2014 (BSS)- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has requested the United Nations to appoint Bangladesh nationals in the decision-making body of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations (UNDPO). The Prime Minister made the request when the visiting under- secretary- general and head of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations of the UN Herve Ladsous paid a courtesy call on her at her official Ganobhaban residence here this afternoon. After the meeting, Prime Minister's Deputy Press Secretary Nazrul Islam briefed reporters. Govt to keep up good ties with other countries protecting national interest: PM
DHAKA, July 24, 2014 (BSS) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said her government wants to maintain relations with other countries by protecting Bangladesh's interest. "We want to maintain good relations with all countries but not at the cost of Bangladesh's interests and we would resolve the outstanding problems with the neigbouring countries," she said. The Prime Minister said though Bangladesh won the maritime boundary demarcation cases, its relations with the neighbours would remain intact.
