Bangladesh's win in CPA, IPU is democracy's world victory: PM
DHAKA, Oct 23, 2014 (BSS) - Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday termed the winning of the post of the chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and the post of president of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) by two Bangladeshi candidates as democracy's world victory. "It's democracy's world victory, it's the victory of the country's people," she told a reception accorded to Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Saber Hossain Chowdhury for being elected as the CPA chairperson and the IPU president.
