DHAKA, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud said he enjoyed bowling with Khaled Ahmed in partnership for Kent in their County match against Derbyshire.

The two Bangladesh pacers shared seven wickets between them to help Kent bowl out Derbyshire for 300 in the first innings.

Hasan continued his impressive performance with 4-30 while Khaled who made a County debut with this match ended with 3-73. This is the first in that two Bangladesh pacers operated simultaneously in County cricket.

"It was obviously good to have Khaled (Ahmed) with me as a bowling partner and I'm very happy for him. In his first game (for Kent) he's taken three and I hope it goes well for him in the next innings," Hasan said after the Day 1 play.

"People in Bangladesh are very happy that two guys are playing for Kent and especially after (what happened) in Australia too, so it's very special for us."

Hasan is quickly emerging as one of Kent's key bowling options despite having made only a handful of appearances for the English County side.

Hasan said his approach on the new wicket was straightforward: focus on maintaining the right length while conceding as few runs as possible.

"With a fresh wicket, I just tried to hit the length hard and be as economical as I could be."

The strategy paid dividends as Hasan conceded fewer than two runs per over while also claiming four wickets, making him Kent's most successful bowler in the innings.

Bangladesh's other representative at Kent, pacer Khaled Ahmed, also made an immediate impact on his debut, taking three wickets. The performances of the two Bangladesh quicks played a major role in Kent's effort to bowl Derbyshire out.
