DHAKA, Sept 8, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh pacer Khaled Ahmed made his debut in 
English County cricket today with Kent as his side took on Derbyshire in a 
crucial game at County Ground, Derby.

His compatriot Hasan Mahmud had already established his as main strike bowler 
of the Kent, setting a high bar for Bangladesh bowlers.

Hasan struck twice in the opening over against Derbyshire before Khaled 
messed with Derbyshire middle order on his very first match. 

Hasan dismissed Harry Came and Matthew Montgomery in the first over, removing 
Came caught at slip before trapping Montgomery lbw with a delivery that came 
in sharply.

The two wickets took Hasan's county tally to 21, underlining his impressive 
form since making his Kent debut in June.

Hasan had announced himself in county cricket with nine wickets against 
Lancashire on debut, earning Player of the Match honors as Kent secured a 
140-run victory. He added three wickets in his second match and later took 
seven wickets across two innings against Worcestershire to help Kent to 
another victory.

His county form came after an impressive Test performance for Bangladesh 
against Australia in Darwin last month, where he claimed nine wickets in the 
two innings, including six in the first innings, and was named Player of the 
Match.
 
Khaled, meanwhile, made an immediate impact on his first appearance for Kent. 
The Bangladesh international claimed his maiden wicket in his fourth over, 
trapping Derbyshire opener Muhammad Naeem lbw.

He later dismissed Derbyshire captain Wayne Madsen for 29 to take his wickets 
tally to two as the opponent reached 122-4 in 39 overs.
