DHAKA, Sept 3, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Para archery team left here today (Thursday) for India to participate in the 2026 World Archery Para Series to be held in Ahmedabad.

The Bangladeshi archers will compete in the international event with the aim of showcasing their best performances on the world para archery stage.

The competition will be held from September 5 to 9 at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, with 109 para archers from nineteen countries will take part in the meet.

The Bangladesh team comprises team manager Shimul Akter, physio Tamjid Hossain, coach Prince Mohammad Syam, and archers Joma Akter, Al Amin Hossain, Md. Ripon Hossain and Md. Robiul Matubber.

The event will begin on September 5 with the Recurve qualifying rounds, followed by the Compound, W1 and visually impaired qualifying rounds on September 6. 

Various team and individual elimination rounds and finals are scheduled for September 8 and 9.

The tournament marks the first time India is hosting an international World Archery Para Series event. It will also provide an important international platform for Asian para archers for the upcoming Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games.
