DHAKA, Aug 20, 2026 (BSS) - International Master (IM) Mohammad Fahad Rahman 
defeated Syria's FIDE Master Mazen Fandi in the fifth round of the Masters 
event of the 32nd Abu Dhabi International Cshes Festival which is now being 
held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The fifth-round games were held on Wednesday last with IM Fahad played with 
the black pieces, employed the Sicilian Defense and won the game against FM 
Mazen at twenty five moves.

IM Fahad has scored 2.5 points from five games.

Fahad will face FIDE Master Arvin Rasti of Sweden in the sixth round 
scheduled for tomorrow (Friday).
