DHAKA, Aug 12, 2026 (BSS) - Pacer bowler Shoriful Islam left Dhaka tonight (Wednesday) for Australia to join the side for the second and final Test after being declared fit.
Shoriful was left out of the first Test squad after suffering from a Grade 1 left hamstring injury.
"Left arm pacer Shoriful has successfully passed his fitness test and has been declared fit," the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) revealed in a press release today. "He will fly tonight to join the Test Squad in Australia to prepare for the second Test."
The BCB also informed that wicket-keeper batter Liton Das who sustained a calf muscle injury is available for selection in the first Test match against Australia starting tomorrow (Thursday).
Meanwhile, Jaker Ali Anik and Musfik Hasan who were in the squad for Australia Tests will return to Bangladesh and begin preparations for the upcoming A Team tour of South Africa.
