Nepal earn consolation win, hosts clinch series 3-2

DHAKA, July 23, 2026 (BSS)- Nepal women's national kabaddi team earned a consolation victory by defeating Bangladesh 25-21 in the fifth and final match of the Women's Kabaddi Test Series, which concluded on Thursday at the National Kabaddi Stadium.

The final match was a formality for Bangladesh, having already secured the five-match series by winning the fourth Test with one match to spare. Despite Thursday's defeat, the hosts clinched the series 3-2.

The two sides fought on equal terms throughout the contest. Bangladesh held a narrow 12-11 lead at the end of the first half, but Nepal produced a stronger second-half performance to seal a four-point victory.

Nepal captain Menuka Kumari Rajbanshi was named player of the match for her impressive performance, while Bangladesh's Brishti Biswas was adjudged player of the tournament for her outstanding displays throughout the series.

The closing and prize-giving ceremony was attended by Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) vice-president and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) DIG Osman Gani, federation general secretary and Gazipur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md. Israil Howlader, joint secretary Anwar Hossain Anu and outgoing general secretary SM Neowaz Sohag.
