DHAKA, June 13, 2026 (BSS) - State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque awarded a bonus of Tk 2 crore to Bangladesh cricketers following their historic ODI series victory over Australia.
He announced the award today during a meet-and-greet session with the cricketers at a city hotel.
Bangladesh secured the three-match series by winning the opening two ODIs against Australia, marking a significant milestone in the country's cricket history.
The series is Bangladesh's first bilateral ODI series victory over Australia.
The triumph also ended a long wait for an ODI win against the Australians, with Bangladesh recording one of their most notable victories over the five-time world champions.
Bangladesh will seek a clean sweep when they take on Australia in the third and final ODI tomorrow (Sunday).
Following the ODI series, both teams will travel to Chattogram for a three-match Twenty20 International series.
The T20 matches are scheduled for June 17, 19 and 21.
The series marks Australia's first bilateral ODI tour of Bangladesh in 15 years.
