DHAKA, May 18, 2026 (BSS) - International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh defeated Grandmaster Quparadze Giga of Georgia in the 5th round of the Grandmaster event of the FUBY Academy Norm Chess Tournament Series 3 held in Istanbul, Turkey today.

In the day's fifth round game, IM Fahad playing with the white pieces, faced the Sicilian Defense of GM Quparadze Giiga if Georgia and secured win after 32 moves.

After the fifth rounds, IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman has collected 43 points and currently maintain in solo lead in the standings.
