SSPL SC emerge champions

DHAKA, May 18, 2026(BSS) - SSPL Sporting Club achieved the glory of becoming unbeaten champions in the Second Division Chess League that concluded on Sunday last night at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room.

SSPL Sporting Club won the title with 18 points while Mahakhali Prodip Sangha finished as runners-up and Debonair Chess Club finished third place, both securing with 13 points each. 

As both teams had equal game points, their final standings were determined by game points. 
Chess Code Academy, Chattogram finished fourth with 12 points. 

With 11 points each, Spandan Bangladesh claimed fifth place after tie-breaking, Bangladesh Police Platinum Chess Club finished sixth, and Dabar Troiye Agrage Smaron Sangha secured seventh place.

Besides, the Innovators finished eighth, Mohammadpur Chess Club ninth, Golapbag Chess Club tenth, Orham Chess Team eleventh  Goalanda Chess Club twelfth with ten points each.

A total of thirty teams participated in this year’s Second Division Chess League, which was conducted in a nine-round Swiss-league format. 

Champions SSPL Sporting Club, runners-up Mahakhali Prodip Sangha, and third-placed Debonair Chess Club earned qualification to compete in the 2026 First Division Chess League.
