DHAKA, May 12, 2026 (BSS)- Striker Sourav Dewan scored a brace as Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club booked their place in the Federation Cup final after a dramatic 2–1 victory over Brothers Union Club in the decisive second qualifiers match held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium on Tuesday.
Eleven time Federation Cup champions Mohammedan will face defending champions Bashundhara Kings in the final scheduled to be held on May 19 at the Bashundhara Kings Arena.
The traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan took the lead in the 38th minute when a right-side throw-in from Rahmat Mia was flicked on by Eli Keke, allowing Sourav Dewan to head the ball into the net.
Following the goal, Dhaka Mohammedan supporters erupted in celebration, filling the stadium with cheers.
Brothers Union responded strongly after the break and equalized in the 74th minute through a free-kick from midfielder Jamal Bhuyan, who scored his first goal in the season.
Just as the match seemed destined for extra time, Mohammedan won a corner in stoppage time. From the delivery of Muzzafarov, a defensive clearance went wrong and the loose ball fell to a Mohammedan attacker, who set it up for Sourav Dewan to finish calmly and restore the lead.
Brothers Union, who last reached a Federation Cup final in 2005, came close to ending their long wait but were ultimately denied by Dewan’s late strike.
