DHAKA, May 8, 2026 (BSS)- Archer Aishorjo Rahman failed to progress beyond the quarterfinals of the compound men's individual event at the Archery World Cup Stage-2 after suffering a narrow 145-147 defeat to Nicolas Girard of France in Shanghai, China on Friday.
Earlier in the round of 16, Aishorjo defeated Tzu Hsiang Yen of Chinese Taipei by 146-144 points to advance to the pre-quarter final stage.
In the round of 1/8, he faced Jozef Bosansky of Slovakia. Both archers were tied at 146-146 after regular scoring, forcing a shoot-off. In the tie-breaker, both competitors scored 10 points with one additional arrow each, but Aishorjo's arrow landed closer to the centre, securing his place in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, in the recurve men's individual round of 1/16, Ramkrishna Saha lost 4-6 sets to Woo Seok Lee of South Korea while Abdur Rahman Alif suffered a 1-7 defeat against Mete Gazoz of Turkey.
