DHAKA, May 6, 2026 (BSS) - City Club emerged champions in the First Division Chess League with one match in hand with a fourteen points from seven matches after the 8th or penultimate round held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room today.

In the days' eighth round matches, City Club defeated Checkmate by 4-0 game points. 

64 Squares Chess Club and Classic Chess Academy are jointly placed in second position with eleven points while Shofiuddin Shah Smirity Sangsad stands in third place with eight points.

The 9th and final round will begin tomorrow (Thursday) at the same venue.
