Mohammedan send Rahmatganj packing

DHAKA, May 5, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club moved closer to another final in the Federation Cup after a commanding 3–0 victory over Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society held at Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Cumilla today (Tuesday).

With this win, the eleven-time champions Mohammedan will now face the losing side of the first qualifier match involving Brothers Union Club. A victory in that fixture will secure their place in the final.

Mohammedan last reached the Federation Cup final in 2023, where they defeated Abahani Limited Dhaka in a dramatic penalty shootout to claim the title after fourteen years.

In Tuesday’s match, midfielder Mohammed Jewel opened the scoring in the 29th minute, giving Mohammedan a first-half lead. He struck again in the 53rd minute to double the advantage, before forward Sourav Dewan sealed the victory with a third goal in the 77th minute.

The dominant performance ensured a comfortable passage for the Motijheel-based giants as they continue their push for another domestic trophy.
