DHAKA, Apr 29, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh women’s kabaddi team returned home Tuesday last night after achieving remarkable success by winning the bronze medal at the Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China. 

Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) president and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir received the kabaddi team at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

As the team arrived at the airport, the BKF president welcomed the players with floral greetings. 

Speaking on the occasion, the BKF president said: “The fighting spirit our girls displayed on foreign soil is a matter of pride for the entire nation. This bronze medal is not just an award, it reflects hard work and deep love for the country. We’ll take stronger steps to further develop women’s kabaddi.”

BKF general secretary SM Newaz Shohag, National Sports Council Director Mohammad Aminul Ehsan, Bangladesh Olympic Association Deputy Secretaries Mahbubur Rahman Shaheen and MA Quddus Khan, BKF vice president IGP (Prison), Brigadier General Syed Md. Motahar Hussain along with other officials of the federation also present there.
