RAJSHAHI, April 24, 2026 (BSS) - The Rangapori Developers & Properties Masters Cup Football (MCF) Tournament-2026, organized by Sonali Otit Club in Rajshahi, has been inaugurated.
This afternoon, the second edition of this football tournament was formally inaugurated by the Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, who attended the event held at the mini stadium adjacent to Hi-Tech Park as the chief guest.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said, "Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is a sports-friendly Prime Minister. He is encouraging players to choose sports as a profession. To discover and develop new talent in the sports sector, the government has undertaken the 'Notun Kuri Sports' program."
Stating that Rajshahi's sports sector will be advanced, the RCC Administrator said, "In the past, many national-level players have emerged from Rajshahi's sports arena. To maintain that legacy, initiatives will be taken to further advance and invigorate the sports sector."
He added, "There are many unfinished development works in Rajshahi, and those will be completed soon. A beautiful fountain will be installed at Gulzarbagh Lake in front of Hi-Tech Park, which will become an attractive tourist spot in the future."
The RCC Administrator further said, "Rajshahi city has already earned a reputation as a 'Green City, Clean City.' I want to enhance this reputation further and present Rajshahi on the world stage. Alongside this, I am determined to develop Rajshahi Metropolitan City as the best city in the country."
At the time, the RCC Administrator assured cooperation from Rajshahi City Corporation in constructing the gate and gallery of the mini stadium adjacent to Hi-Tech Park.
Meanwhile, the 17th Ward Cricket League-2026 of Rajshahi City has also been inaugurated.
This afternoon, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, inaugurated Bismillah Enterprise Presents 17th Ward Cricket League-2026 (Season-09) as the chief guest at a ceremony held at Borbonogram Raipara Balurmath.
