Rafin’s Magic: 6 wickets in 4 maiden overs as Borguna dominate

DHAKA, April 16, 2026 (BSS)—A stunning bowling performance lit up the Prime Bank National School Cricket tournament as Borguna District School’s young pacer Mohammad Rafin delivered a spell to remember today.

In a tournament already witnessing batting fireworks with Mohammad Aziz smashing an unbeaten 201 and Saifur Rahman hammering an unbeaten 228, the spotlight shifted to bowling brilliance at Borguna Stadium.

Left-arm pacer Rafin, a member of Bangladesh Under-16 team, produced a sensational spell of 6 wickets for 0 runs in 4 overs, all maidens, against Keorabunia High School. His fiery bowling ripped through the opposition after they elected to bat first.

Keorabunia High School collapsed for just 32 runs in 16 overs, with Rafin leading the charge. He was well supported by Araf, who claimed three wickets, while Musa Ibrahim chipped in with one wicket. The total could have been even lower if not for 18 extra runs conceded by Borguna’s bowlers, including six wides and two no-balls.

The batting lineup of Keorabunia struggled throughout, with scores reading: 1, 2, 0, 0, 3, 0, 1, 7, 0, 0, 0—highlighting the complete domination by the Borguna bowlers.

In reply, Borguna District School chased down the modest target effortlessly, securing a 10-wicket victory in just two overs. Opener Siam Molla remained unbeaten on 10, while Farhan stayed not out on 13. Interestingly, 12 runs in the chase came from extras and all were wides.

On a record-breaking day, right hand fast bowler Nur Ali Siam also came up with a performance to remember. He too scalped six wickets as his bowling figure read 7-2-6-6 in the Prime Bank School cricket today in another match.
