DHAKA, April 12, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh opening batter Parvez Hossain Emon began rehab to recover from a right shoulder injury sustained in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) medical officials expressing hopes over his availability for the upcoming international assignment.
National team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan confirmed that Emon picked up the injury on April 3 while representing his PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars.
Medical assessments suggest the injury is not severe, though it is expected to require approximately three weeks for full recovery.
"Following an assessment of Parvez Hossain Emon, who returned from Pakistan with a right shoulder injury sustained on April 3 during fielding, it appears to be an injury that may require approximately three weeks for recovery," the physio said.
He added that Emon, who is the vital cog in Bangladesh's T20 squad, has already begun a structured rehabilitation program under the supervision of the BCB's medical and coaching staff.
"He will now undergo rehabilitation and functional skill training under the close monitoring of the BCB medical and coaching staff," he added.
"We are hopeful of his recovery in time for the upcoming T20 International series against New Zealand later this month."
