DHAKA, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - The Asian Continental stage of the FIDE-ISCF
World School's Team Chess Championship, organised by the World Chess
Federation FIDE and the International School Chess Federation (ISCF), began
today (Tuesday) in Almaty Kazakhstan.
The champion team of the last year National High School Programmatic Chess
Competition, organised by the ICT Division and BCC-South Point School &
College, Malibag branch from Bangladesh, is participating in the meet.
In the first round, South Point School & College defeated St. Joseph Anglo-
Chinese Primary School of Hong Kong by 4-0 game points. Muhtady Tajwar
Nasheed, Safayat Kibria Azaan, Sidratul Muntaha Nafi and Azaan Mahmood won
their respective games against Cheung Hui Lok, Tsui Paxton, Chen Lik Shun and
Hui Cheuk Yu of St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School.
In the second match, South Point School and College lost to second-seeded
team, Wisdom School of Uzbekistan by 1-3 game points. The only win for South
Point School and College came from Azaan Mahmood, who defeated Abdukayumov
Alisher of Wisdom School. Muhtady Tajwar Nasheed, Safayat Kibria Azaan and
Sidratul Muntaha Nafi were lsot to Botiraliev Abdumajid, Obidov Biloliddin
and Xikmatkhonova Mokhinur of Wisdom School respectively.
After two rounds, South Point School & College has earned two points.
