DHAKA, Jan 15, 2026 (BSS) - Host Pirojpur U-17 district team made winning 
start as they beat Bhola U-17 district team by a solitary goal in the U-17 
National Football Championship that has begun at Pirozpur district stadium 
today (Thursday). 

After the barren first half, Mehedi Fasan scored the all-important goal for 
Pirojpur in the 47th minute taking a cross from Murad Hossain.

Throughout the match, Pirojpur district team was ahead in possession of the 
ball and showed more activity in attack. Pirojpur district team got five 
corners and equal numbers free kicks in the match. 

On the other hand, Bhola district team won three corners and got four free 
kicks.

Pirojpur district team captain Nahid Sheikh created opportunities with two 
solo attempts in the 10th and 75th minutes of the match, but the team's 
forwards could not capitalize those chances.

Pirojpur district team defender Sabbir Molla Jersey was adjudged the best 
player of the match for his impressive performance.

Earlier, Pirojpur district additional deputy commissioner (general) Alauddin 
Bhuiyan Jonny formally inaugurated the Kirtonkhola zone competition as the 
chief guest.
