DHAKA, Jan 11, 2026 (BSS) - Opener Hassan Eisakhil, the son of the Afghanistan
all-rounder Moahmmad Nabi, struck a brilliant 50 ball-92 on his Bangladesh
Premier League (BPL) debut to lead Noakhali Express to a strong 184-7 against
Dhaka Capitals at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.
The match, however, saw a father-son duo playing same team for the first time
in the history of franchise cricket.
Opening the innings for Noakhali, Eisakhil struck seven fours and five sixes
in his knock before missing out the well deserved century.
After electing to bat first, Eisakhil and his fellow opener Soumya Sarkar
made a solid start by sharing 101 runs in just 9.2 overs.
Soumya was dismissed by Abdullah Al Mamun after hitting 25 ball-48 with seven
fours and one six. The departure of Soumya triggered a mini collapse that saw
Noakhali lost two more wickets in next three overs.
Eisakhil with his father Mohammad Nabi then brought the side back into the
contest again by adding 53 runs for the fourth wicket. Nabi who was outshined
by his son in the partnership made 13 ball-17.
However, the father-son duo were dismissed in the space of three balls, which
effectively ruined Noakhali's prospect to take the total past 200.
Mohammad Saifuddin, Taijul Islam and Abdullah Al Mamun picked up two wickets
apiece for Dhaka.
