DHAKA, Dec 27, 2025 (BSS) - Ten men Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club returned to winning streak in the Bangladesh Football League when they beat PWD Sports Club by 2–1 goals in a match held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur today (Saturday).
In the day’s match, Indian forward Ben Ouattara and forward Hossain Arian scored one goal each for Fakirerpool who led the first half by 2-0 goals.
Ben Ouattara put Fakirerpool ahead in the 20th minute from spot kick while Arian doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 45th minute of the match.
After the breather, forward Minhazul Shadin pulled one back scoring a lone goal for PWD in the 80th minute of the match from a spot kick.
Midfielder Shihab Mia of Fakirerpool was shown red card by the referee for his unsporting behavior during the match.
The day’s win saw Fakirerpool secure eight points from eight matches while PWD remained with their previous collection of seven points playing the same number of matches.
Both Fakirerpool and PWD will play their ultimate matches of the first round of the league against Bashundhara Kings and Fortis Football Club respectively on January 3.
