DHAKA, Dec 27, 2025 (BSS)—Title aspirants Rangpur Riders have arrived in Sylhet today to kick off their journey in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 tournament.

The other five teams had already played their matches with some teams even playing two matches in the first two days of the tournament.

Rangpur will begin their journey on Monday by taking on Chattogram Royals at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

However, they will go through a hectic schedule in Sylhet after their opening match as they have matches in all remaining three days later.

Despite forming strong squads over the years, Rangpur couldn’t lift the BPL title since 2017.

Rangpur skipper Nurul Hasan Sohan pointed out the recurring issue of overseas player availability but hoped that they will sort out the issues this year.

“There is always a problem with the arrival and departure of foreign players. This year, we hope to play as one team throughout the tournament,” he said. 

“When there are many changes, it becomes difficult for the team to bond. So our main focus is to play as one team.”
