DHAKA, Dec 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh's next home series against Pakistan, scheduled for next year, is set to be played in two phases due to a scheduling clash with the Pakistan Super League (PSL), confirmed BCB cricket operations chairman Nazmul Abedeen Fahim.
"Because of the PSL, our home series against Pakistan next year is likely to be shifted slightly. Since it's a full-fledged bilateral series, there's a chance it will be split into two phases-partly before the PSL and partly after," Fahim told the reporters in Mirpur.
According to the ICC's Future Tour Programme (FTP), Pakistan are scheduled to tour Bangladesh in mid-March for two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is. However, with the PSL overlapping the series, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering a rescheduling.
The series will be divided into red-ball and white-ball formats, with both boards currently in discussions about which format should be played first.
The white-ball leg of the tour is highly likely to take place in the first phase, as the ICC T20 World Cup is set to conclude on March 8.
The two-match Test series, part of the ICC World Test Championship, is expected to be played after the PSL.
Fahim also provided an update on Bangladesh's preparations for the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The team is set to depart for Bengaluru on January 28, 2026, for the tournament, which will be held in February and March.
Bangladesh will play two warm-up matches against Namibia and Afghanistan ahead of the event.
