DHAKA, Dec 6, 2025 (BSS) - Mymensingh's bowlers put up a strong performance on Day 1 of the seventh and final round of the 27th National Cricket League (NCL) at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, leaving Rajshahi in a troublesome position.
After bowling Rajshahi out for 219, Mymensingh reached 73-2 at stumps, still trailing by 146 runs. Much will depend on Rajshahi's bowlers to regain control of the match on Day 2.
At the close of play, Khalid Hasan was batting on 28, with Ariful Islam on 5. Mymensingh lost opener Mahfijul Islam Robin for just 1, but in-form Naim Sheikh looked set for another big score before he was dismissed for 33 by Mohor Sheikh.
Rajshahi, who were put into bat first, saw solid contributions from Nayeem Ahmed (81) and Habibur Rahman Sohan (44 from 36 balls), which gave them a solid start.
However, apart from Nayeem, no other batsman could build a substantial score, leaving the team vulnerable.
For Mymensingh, pace bowler Abu Haider Rony was the standout performer, claiming 3-61, while Asadullah Hill Galib and Rakibul Hasan each took two wickets.
