DHAKA, Nov 12, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh would take on visiting Nepal in the lone FIFA
International Tier-1 Friendly match scheduled to be held at National Stadium
tomorrow (Thursday).
The match kicks off at 8 pm.
Both Bangladesh and Nepal are going to play the friendly match against as a
part of preparation ahead of their AFC Asian Cup qualifier engagement.
Bangladesh will square off against India at home on November 18 fixture at
home while Nepal will face Malaysia on the same day. Both teams will be
desperate to get a positive result ahead of their Asian Cup qualifier games.
In the last meeting with Nepal in the two-match friendly series, Bangladesh
played out to a goalless goal draw with Nepal held in Kathmandu in September
window.
Despite a fighting performance in the recently AFC Asian Cup engagement,
Bangladesh suffered a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat to Hong Kong, China at home
but they managed to earn a creditable 1-1 draw against Hong Kong in their
away match.
After a promising performance against upper ranked Hong Kong in home and on
the recent tour of Hong Kong, China, Javier Cabrera's men gained much
confidence and aiming to complete their Asian Cup preparation with a victory
over Nepal.
However this friendly match is expected to be a tight affair for Bangladesh
because Nepal have an upper hand in terms of psychological advantage, having
managed to remain undefeated against Bangladesh in the last five games.
The Bangladesh team must be boosted in presence of Leicester City midfielder
Hamza Choudhury and Canada-based midfielder Samit Som ahead of the friendly
match against Nepal and an AFC qualifier against India.
The Bangladesh head coach Cabrera earlier hinted that all players could get
game time in the warm-up fixtures against Nepal and want to focus on
preparing very well.
