DHAKA, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) -The Day 2 of the third round of National Cricket
League (NCL) was largely dominated by the bowlers at different venues across
the country today.

Abu Jayed Rahi, who was once a dependable pacer for Bangladesh in Test
format, hogged the limelight after a long time with four-wicket haul that
brought Sylhet back into the contest.

The Day 2 also saw the likes of Soumya Sarkar, Naim Sheikh missing out their
centuries.

Chattogram vs Khulna

Soumya Sarkar missed out a ton as Khulna failed to throw any stiff challenge
to Chattogram at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman
Cricket Stadium, Chattogram.

Soumya hit 92 off 119 with 10 fours and one six, leading Khulna to 249-8 at
stumps, still trailing by 102 runs.

Ziaur Rahman was batting 55 with Mehedi Hasan Rana on 3 when the day's play
ended.

Apart from Soumya and Ziaur, no one could take responsibility to drive the
side to the safety.

Offspinner Mahedi Hasan was the wrecker-in-chief, snapping up 4-55. Ashraful
Hasan picked up 2-42.

Earlier, resuming the day at 340-8, Chattogram were able to add just 11 runs
before being all out for 351. Sofor Ali completed his five-for by taking the

together to steady the innings. Before being trapped leg-before by Tanvir, he

bails were drawn.

Sylhet vs Rangpur

Pacer Abu Jayed Rahi claimed 4-36 as Sylhet Division clawed back into the
contest to leave their third round game against Rangpur in parity at Cox's
Bazar Cricket Stadium.

Jayed's brilliant bowling reduced Rangpur 187-8 at stumps on Day 2, after
Sylhet were bowled out for just 199 runs.

Sylhet are in now with a chance to take a lead despite an ordinary total on
the board.

Jayed ripped through Rangpur's top order with a sensational bowling, bringing
the side back into the contest. The other bowlers also dazzled with him as
Rangpur slumped to 45-5.

Hasim's 31 which eventually help Rangpur recover from the early collapse.

before being all out for 336. Dhaka reached 17 for no loss at stumps.

the middle order's pretty ordinary batting show but eventually missed the
century when Anisul Islam rattled his stump.

No.9 batter Shohidul Islam, however, took the onus and struck 79 to help the
side go past 300-run. Captain Shuvagata Hom added 37.
